Christian psychologist Joy Bodzioch has written a new book on finding mental well-being by applying the Beatitudes to your life. Following Jesus' plan for living our lives will help us find meaning and joy.
Sharing from her life, her experience as a professional counselor and as a Bible student, Dr. Joy gives an insightful path to finding biblical help for insecurity, depression, negative thinking and other challenges we face in our Christian walk. Read the "Contents" page and the "Introduction."
"Blessed are those who read Discover Joy, for they will be instructed by scriptures, guided by truth, and encouraged on their journey to biblical joy." --Kay McKean, Women Today/Disciples Today Online
“Joy brings biblical scholarship and her experience as a psychologist together to encourage robust Kingdom-thinking. This book will enrich both men and women.” --Tom Jones, Teacher, Greater Nashville Church, author of Mind Change and numerous other books
"Dr. Joy Bodzioch has a rare gift of perspective as a devoted disciple of Jesus first, and a counselor second. In Discover Joy, she offers insightful biblical instruction and timely exercises that take the reader on a journey to biblical joy. I’ll go back to it again and again!" --Robin Weidner, author, Secure in Heart
"This book spiritually guided me as I sought to fight my way back to a healthy mind, body and emotions during an especially difficult and confusing time. “ --Marcia Lamb, Disciples Today, Chicago
Joy Bodzioch Ph.D. (professionally known as “Dr. Joy”) received her doctorate in psychology from Texas Women’s University. Having worked in clinical and ministry settings, she was also an award-winning entrepreneur and president of The Diversity Advantage, a speaking and corporate training company that helped businesses capitalize on an increasingly diverse workforce. She hosted her own educational radio series for two years and has been interviewed numerous times on radio and television. To provide companion material to her diversity workshops, Joy authored a management book entitled Catching the Wave of Workforce Diversity: Powerful New Skills for Managers. But, for Joy, by far, her most meaningful credential is that she is a follower of Jesus, seeking daily to serve him and to serve others in his name.
