 In the spring of 1995 at a meeting of ministry leaders it was suggested that we develop a curriculum for children. Through the years our fellowship of churches has used materials from other sources, supplementing and adjusting as we saw fit. While most of these materials have offered a sound base for our ministries, they clearly lacked certain elements that we believe are vital.
Gordon Ferguson was asked to oversee this effort. Since DPI already had in place the needed elements to edit and publish the material, it was decided that the efforts of thirteen churches (and more than 400 individuals) who volunteered to help would be funneled through DPI's editorial, design and production process to produce the finished product. Larry Wood oversaw production. Sheila Jones served as editor in chief.
 There are eight quarters of material for each of these age groups:

GENERATION NEXT: 1st and 2nd grade, 3rd and 4th grade, and preteen.
These eight quarters are used on a rotating basis, being repeated every two years. Reproducible Pages are included in each lesson to print off for student use, so there is never a need to purchase student books quarter after quarter as with traditional curriculums.

*NOTE: Unit 22 (2 lessons) are on the structure of the International Churches of Christ and are outdated. New material will have to be subsituted whether used in these churches or others.
