We gave a precopy of John and Kim Scott's new book to help memorize 30 scriptures to several "test" families. We wanted to share with you their responses to this great little tool. And we think you will want to get a copy for your family too.
We have thoroughly enjoyed One Picture's Worth: Memorizing God's Words. We keep ours in the car; it's the perfect size. That's where we have learned most of the scriptures, and it's a great place to practice. I'll ask the boys (ages 8 & 12) "What do you think is going on in this picture?" without showing them the scripture. We then look at the scripture and apply it to picture. It helps them to relate to what God intended and leaves a lasting impression. I love how easy it is to learn the scriptures for the boys and me too. Sometimes I'll give them the book and ask them to find the scripture that helps us with a certain subject. The selected scriptures are an arsenal of references in any given day.

One Picture's Worth is an amazing book for memorizing scripture. I feel that my children and I are on a journey together to learn about God's heart and character through the scriptures. This is our first year of homeschooling and I just realized how hungry my children are for God's words. They beg for "just one more story Mom, please!!" Those are the sweetest words a mother could hear. God's heart is being imprinted on their heart when they write his words there. Yes, life is very busy, but our children are in our care for an instant...it is worth whatever sacrifice we have to make to instill a passionate love for God. He wants his words hidden in their hearts so they can face life with faith not fear. The Scotts' book is an incredible tool that will help us on this journey.

We've found this photo book to be very helpful in teaching our children God's Word through pictures. We're encouraged that God's Word is being planted deep in their hearts in these early years and look forward to seeing how those seeds will grow throughout their lives. Thank you for such a good and useful tool.

This book has brought about an excitement about God’s word to our five-year old. She asks us "When are we going to do the book again." What a great way for our family to experience God together. The pictures made it very easy to identify and relate to the scripture.
